The Best Deer Stand in the World

I happen to think my deer stand is the best in the world. Not so much for the number of deer I see from it ( I do see a lot) but because of the sunrise over the lake. The stand is about 100 yards from the lake.

How to Put On Tractor Tire Chains

1. Layout the chains

2. Tie a couple of twine strings thru the wheel hubs.

3. Tie the twine to the center of the chains.

4. Drive the tractor forward. The chains will lift right around the tires. Drive until the chains are all the way around. Then hook up the latches.

Too Darn Hot

98 degrees on September 9 is just not right. This is Otter Creek township in Wisconsin, we're supposed to be worrying about frost this time of year.

Bucket List Checkoff

Riding in a helicopter is something I can now check off my bucket list!

Here's pics from my helicopter ride last weekend.

Taking off.

Sunset over Colfax.

Our place in Otter Creek

Another sunset over the Red Cedar river.

16 Inches of Snow

This is what just shy of 16 inches of snow looks like when we get a snowstorm on May 2.

The darn stuff just won't stop falling.

A Redneck Solution

This is my redneck solution to take care of an ice-covered driveway.

Spread out old hay chaff on the driveway. Lots of grip and no chemicals, plus the hay chaff absorbs the heat of the sun and helps melt the ice.
